At the 25th edition of the Investment & Pensions Europe (IPE) Awards, Shell Pension received two European pension awards:

• Award for the country with the best pension fund 2025
• European Occupational Pension Fund of the Year 2025

The IPE Awards is an annual event in the European pensions sector. This year’s ceremony took place on Thursday 4 December 2025 in Seville, where around 300 senior leaders from major pension funds came together.

Recognition from the jury
The jury praised our forward-looking investment strategy, in which responsible investing, ESG stewardship and diversity all play an important role. Our clear communication and the active engagement of participants were also highlighted as strengths. According to the jury, Shell Pension is “an example for other large funds,” as we combine a strong long-term framework with sustainable choices and clear information for participants.

These awards are an important recognition of the work of everyone within the Shell Pension ecosystem. Together we continue to provide a strong and future-proof pension for our participants – now and in the years ahead.

About the IPE Awards
The Investment & Pensions Europe (IPE) Awards have existed for 25 years and recognise quality and innovation in the European pensions sector. Pension funds from across Europe can submit entries and have their performance assessed in areas such as investment, governance, communication and long-term strategy. The awards provide an annual benchmark, allowing funds to compare their results with similar organisations at national, regional and European level. The jury consists of around 100 independent experts, including consultants, academics and former pension fund executives. They assess all entries through a transparent and carefully structured process.
