Shell Pension named Best Pension Fund of the Year 2025
On Tuesday, 24 June 2025, the 12th edition of the Pensioen Pro Awards took place. During the event, Shell Pension was named Best Pension Fund of 2025 (in the category ‘funds with assets exceeding €15 billion’). This award is presented by an independent jury to the fund that stands out in terms of policy, performance, governance, communication and participant engagement. “Shell Pensioen serves as an example to others, thanks to its combination of financial strength, careful governance, and thoughtful communication,” said the jury.
The jury on Shell Pension:
“At Shell Pension, the transition to the new pension system is being managed with great care, always with a strong focus on the interests of its participants. The fund distinguishes itself through innovative communication, strategic partnerships, financial stability and a proactive approach to the pension transition. The CARE programme (Comfort and Retirement Ease) supports participants step by step on their way to their new pension. It provides personal guidance and information, tailored to each stage of the transition and to the needs of each participant. This is not a one-off campaign, but an integral part of the fund’s long-term strategy, with continued attention to participants’ interests."
Kenan Yildirim, Director of Shell Pension Netherlands:
“We are honoured by this recognition, which I would like to dedicate to everyone involved in our Shell Pension ecosystem. It is their dedication that helps deliver a fine pension to our participants. This is reflected in strong asset management, accurate administration and the personal guidance we offer. This is how we work today, and how we will continue to work under the Dutch Future Pensions Act (Wtp). This award is a great recognition for everyone who contributes to this effort every day.”
