SSPF has risen 4 places in the sustainability ranking
Since 2018, SSPF has risen 20 places in the annual ranking of VBDO, an independent association that focuses on making the financial markets more sustainable (ESG). SSPF was still in 41st place in 2018, it was 25th in 2021 and 21st this year. This is the result of the SSPF Board's clear ESG vision, consistent with the vision of Shell Nederland and executed with great discipline by SPN and SAMCo.
The VBDO annually examines the responsible investment policy and performance of Dutch pension funds. The benchmark assesses the 50 largest pension funds in the Netherlands, together accounting for a total assets under management of around € 1,500 billion.
Ambition and result
ESG activities in SSPF are driven by its own ESG vision and ambition. In line with these ambitions of the fund, SSPF now has a respectable place in the VBDO ranking of pension funds. Although this VBDO ranking is certainly not leading for the fund policy, it is a nice acknowledgment of the good ESG work in recent years. Compared to other company pension funds, SSPF is now in a respectable position.
