SSPF pension increase: 2% with effect from 1 February 2022

Participants who did not receive indexation on 1 February 2022 will still receive a 2% increase.

This applies:

  • if you work and accrue pension
  • if you receive invalidity pension
  • if your partner has died, until their original retirement date
  • if you receive orphan’s pension

Active participants: we are increasing your accrued pension by 2% with effect from 1 February 2022
If you are still accruing pension, your pension grew in line with the development of the majority of Shell Nederland’s salary scales each year. Because these have not increased in 2022, your accrued pension did not increase on 1 February 2022. This is now being changed. Your accrued pension will be unconditionally increased by 2% per year in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Central Works Council (COR) has approved this increase. The employer will decide later whether to also apply this increase to 2025 and 2026.

Persons incapacitated for work: your pension is being increased with effect from 1 February 2022
Your pension benefit increased unconditionally each year in line with the development of the majority of Shell Nederland’s salary scales. Because the salary scales have not increased in 2022, your pension benefit did not increase on 1 February 2022. This is now being changed. The salary, on the basis of which we calculate your disability pension, will be unconditionally increased by 2% per year in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The WAO / WIA deduction is based on the information we receive from UWV. The salary will be unconditionally increased by 2% per year in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Central Works Council (COR) has approved this increase. The employer will decide later whether to also apply this increase to 2025 and 2026.

Surviving dependants and orphans: your pension is being increased by 2% with effect from 1 February 2022
Your pension benefit increased unconditionally each year in line with the development of the majority of Shell Nederland’s salary scales. Because the salary scales have not increased in 2022, your pension benefit did not increase on 1 February 2022. This is now being changed. Your benefit will be unconditionally increased by 2% per year in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Central Works Council (COR) has approved this increase. The employer will decide later whether to also apply this increase to 2025 and 2026.

The 2% increase applies until your former partner would have reached their original retirement date
A conditional increase in line with the increase in consumer prices applies as from the date that your former partner would have reached their original retirement date. This conditional increase depends on SSPF’s financial situation. The Board decides annually about this increase.

We will process the increase in your pension on 1 June 2022
In June, you will receive your June 2022 pension and the backdated increase for February to May 2022.
