New research: women have a 40% lower pension on average

Yesterday, in the news: Pension think tank Netspar has done research to uncover the difference between the pensions received by men and women.

Men receive a far higher pension on average than women do
In 2018, retired men received an average pension of € 34,000 in contrast to the average of almost € 20,000 received by females in the same period. This is a difference of more than 40 percent and the biggest male-female difference in the European Union after Cyprus.

It could take years before this difference disappears. Click here for the full NOS news report (only in Dutch).
